Extermination Episode 67: Coming Attractions


A Bella-centric episode




Bella opened her eyes and glanced around. Where was she? A moment ago, she had just been in the underground room, being held hostage by Jake, but now, she was somewhere else. Just then, she remembered. Ririko, she had gotten shot and was killed. Then Tyler aimed to shoot Ken, but she had no memory of whether or not she was successful. She noticed that she was in a bed. She thought

“Holy crap, am I in a bed? Did we get rescued?”

She got up out of bed and looked around. She was in a hotel room it seemed. He got up and went to the window. Outside was a city, a functioning city; it appeared to be New York to her. Just then, the door to the room was opened and Alexis stepped in.

Bella went up to Alexis and asked, “Did we get rescued?”

Alexis replied, “Not in the way you might expect. You forgot everything? You must’ve hit your head hard then I thought.”

“What do you mean we didn’t get rescued in the way we might expect?” It also just hit Bella that she had a headache.

Alexis said, “I guess that little tumble down the stairs you took has given you a bit of amnesia. Well, to refresh your memory, yes, a plane did come for us. You and I got rescued.”

“What do you mean you and I?”

“****, you must’ve really hit your head hard to forget all of this.”

“JUST TELL ME ******!”

“We were the only ones rescued, because WE were the only ones alive.”

“What? No, you’re lying.”

“Wish I was, but no, everyone else was dead by the time that plane got to us. Luckily the plane radio a boat, cause it was blown up before we can leave. We barely made it back to New York in one piece. Although, what was the point? Ganner is still alive and he’s coming after us. Already reports of his work have appeared across the country. He’s looking for us, and it’s only a matter of time until he finds us. I guess he’ll get his Extermination of the nations after all.”

“This can’t be happening.”

Alexis, now in tears, replied, “Well, it is. And if we want to survive, we have to get out of here now.”

“Why?”

‘Because he’s coming here today, he has already rampaged through Ohio, the fact that we’re even still alive is lucky enough.”

“No, we have to stay here and fight him if he really is coming?”

“WHATS THE POINT OF FIGHTING? Jaden was killed by Ganner in an attempt to get us rescued. Alister and Valon were both killed in an attempt to explode the dome. I’ll never forget that event. That’s how we lost most of them.”

“How?”

“Ganner got the bright idea to mount all of us to the inside of the dome, after we finally were able to shut it down. But Alister and Valon got out and unhooked us, but when they unhooked Brier, the whole dome blew up, killing everyone inside. We were outside luckily. But Sho, Ed, and Ken weren’t killed in that blast, they were already dead. Ken was shot dead by Jake, Ed too. Sho died of a seizure. And of course, there is everyone else who died before all those events. Everyone died by something caused by Ganner.”

Bella stood silent, trying to take in everything Alexis had just told her.

Alexis then said, “Its really a shame. I had so much hope when we first came there. I mean, it was scary, but we were all together. And then new people show up, but they didn’t last, well, except for you. I just wish I could go back, and undo all of it. But I can’t. But enough remembering how crappy our lives have become, lets just get out of here.”

Bella agreed and followed Alexis outside, however, as soon as they stepped out, the hotel blew up behind them, sending them flying across the street. Alexis got up and said,

“OH my Gosh, He’s here.”

The two ran as far and as fast as they could, but buildings just blew up behind them.

Bella asked, “If his dome was destroyed, then how could he still have any power?”

“Because, he used the lives he took to make another one. Destroying the dome helps fight him, but we didn’t kill him. As long as he lives, he can build another one with the lives he takes. He got that power from the devil himself I sometimes think. Cause, as evil as he is, he’s trying to kill you, his own daughter. No human being with a real soul could ever do that with a good conscious like he does.”

“Yeah, my father has some really crapped up ideas in his sick mind.”

“Well, there’s nothing we can do about that.”

The two continued to run, as buildings and cars exploded. Bodies dropped dead like flies behind them. Bella saw child after child crush by falling debris. The life loss became unbearable. She suddenly remembered all the events that Alexis had spoke of. They really had happened. She stopped and asked,

“Why are we running? He’ll only find us, and kill us. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to die running away, I want to go down fighting, so I’m going back. Are you coming?”

Alexis stood there for a second and remembered seeing the dome explode with Valon inside. She remembered each and every death she had witnessed. She turned around and said,

“I’m tired of running too. I mean, what is there to live for anymore? One half the world has been blown up by this guy, or someone trying to kill him. Everyone we care about is dead. Everyone that we loved, that we trusted, that we promised ourselves we’d know forever, they are all dead. Maybe you’re right. What are we running from? The inevitable? Well I don’t want to run anymore. If this really is the end of the world, then there is no escaping this. If I am to meet God today, I want to tell him that I at least tried to save the remaining people. I’m in, lets go back.”

Bella asked, “You know we’re not coming out of this alive right?”

“Of course I know, but I don’t care anymore. I’ve seen too much death. Ganner is probably going to get his wish to exterminate the world. But we’re not going down without a fight.” Alexis saw the ruins of a bombed gun store just behind. She went in and got four large loaded guns and gave two to Bella. She said, “Two loaded guns, that’s all we have. But we’ll make it work.”

Bella asked, “Are you ready?”

Alexis replied, “As ready as I’ll ever be, let’s roll.”

The two rushed back to where Ganner was. He was just standing in the middle of the street. By one swipe of his hand, a building would explode for yards around. Upon seeing Alexis and Bella, he said,

“At last, I come face to face with the last two surviving members of the Chosen crew. Well, after I kill you, I can just blow up the world in one shot without a care. You see, since you escaped, I figured, I should do you the honor of killing you personally.”

Alexis said, “You bastard, I won’t let you.”

She charged at him firing off her first gun. The bullets bounced off him like marbles. He was unharmed.

He said to her, “You know that as long as my dome is active, I cannot be killed.”

Bella fired he guns at his face, but the bullets did nothing.

Ganner said to he, “Ah, my precious daughter. So foolish, like your mother was before I killed her.” Bella became enraged and fired the rest of her bullets, which did nothing to Ganner. Ganner swiped his hand, and blew up the rest of the city. Everyone else was dead. The bodies of the dead, covered by debris, filled what once was a flourishing city. Every other country on the planet had been wiped out. On a few secluded areas of America were left. Alexis and Bella stood on top of debris. They stared at all the death that surrounded them. Ganner said, “Do not fear my child, you shall join them momentarily. Suddenly, Ganner wiped out a knife and threw it at Alexis, striking her stomach. Bella quickly ran over to her and picked her up. She ran as far as could away from Ganner. Alexis was bleeding heavily. Alexis said,

“STOP, don’t take me any further. Its too late for me.”

Bella said, “No, it’s too soon.”

Alexis said, “I’m going to be with Valon. I can die in peace now, knowing that I tried, that I finally fought back. Thank you for your encouragement.”

Bella said, “See you on the other side Alexis.”

Alexis said, “Until we meet again Bella, until we meet again.”

With that, Alexis’ hand fell from Bella’s and she exhaled her last breath as she died. Alexis had no time to bury Alexis. Ganner was coming closer. Bella ran as fast as she could, firing bullets from her second gun, hoping that by some miracle, they’d hit and kill Ganner. But she had no such luck. At some point, she dropped her gun and could not go back to get it. Eventually, she came to the bridge that led out of the city. It was a long bridge, covered with blood now. She was about to cross it, but she felt that it was pointless. She turned around, and decided to face her father, most likely for the last time. Ganner had appeared in front of the bridge and then stepped on.

Ganner said to Bella, “All of the chosen ones are dead, well, all except for one, you. But you are my daughter, my flesh and blood. I will give you one chance, and one chance only, the chance to survive, the chance to live, the chance to join up with me. What do you say Bella? Do you want to step by your father? Or die by his hand?”

Bella stood there for a minute, before giving her answer.

She said, “No, never, it would be like making a deal with the devil himself. I won’t do that. I’m not like you.”

Ganner said, “Then you must die.”

She replied, “May I say something first?”

Ganner said, “Yes, you may.”

She said, “Each life on this earth is precious, each and every one. When someone takes the life of an innocent person, it saddens me. I used to try and ignore this feeling, but I cannot no more. It’s easy to forget the lives of people we deem as unimportant, but they are people too. Now, criminals like you, one can make a case for why you need to be killed, but not the innocent. The sad thing is, people have been killed for years; in the holocaust, through abortion and euthanasia, or by wicked people like you. Well, it just saddens me how any human being could have so little respect for life. How can anyone take another human life, and cut short the good potential that person may have? If one person in this world could make a positive difference, shouldn’t it be worth it for all of us to join together and support that person? Each life is sacred, and no man had the right to cut short those innocent lives. Life, love, they are the most precious and beautiful things in this world. How any man can try to take them away, for any reason, that is the more sad and horrible thing in this world.”

Ganner asked, “Are you done yet? Because I have people to kill.”

With that, he fired one final bullet into Bella’s chest. She fell back, off the bridge and into the water. The pain throughout her body was unbearable. As she sank below the surface, and her vision was consumed by the water, her life had flashed before he eyes. She apologized to God for all the sins she had done throughout her life. She shed a tear for what could have been; had she just been able to change what happened. With this thought in her head, she closed her eyes, and died, as her body sank to the floor of the water.


Suddenly, Bella opened her eyes. She was in a murky place, where she heard a voice talking to her. She turned around to see her Uncle Kale standing there. He said to her,

“Bella, it is time to go back.”

She asked, “What do you mean go back?”

He said, “This, all of this, it has been a vision of what is yet to come, a sort of preview of coming attractions. This will happen, but only if the events unfolded like they did. You Bella, you have been given the great gift of being able to prevent these events from happening. This is the last gift I can give to you and your friends. After this, I will no longer be able to protect you. So use this vision, to help you and your friends really escape.” With that, he disappeared. Bella was confused but happy that she had a chance to redo certain events. With a quick flash, she was back in the underground room.

Bella saw that Jake was about to shoot Ken. She jumped on Ken and pulled him out of the path of the bullet. She then rushed Jake and took the gun from his hand and threw it to Ken. Jake quickly threw her off. As soon as he did, three shots were heard. Ken had fired three bullets into Jake’s chest.

Ken said, “That was for Ririko.”

Jake collapsed to the ground and died.

Ken asked Bella, “Thanks for that, I dunno what came over you.”

Bella replied, “I dunno what it was, but I have a feeling that things are going to be different from now on.”

Ken asked, “How so?”

Bella said, “Just a feeling.”

Ed said, “I did it, he’s gonna be alright.”

Bella ran over. Sho had stabilized and was going to be ok. She said, “Yes, I can do it.”

Bella then explained to everyone what had happened to her. At first, nobody believed her, but Sho awoke from his unconscious state, completely cured from his disease and said,

“I believe her.”

Alexis, also better from the disease said, “Somehow, I completely trust her.”

Everyone else alive woke up from the unconscious state, completely cured of the disease. Bella said, “Alright, it won’t be easy. But we can defeat Ganner, and we will stop that preview I saw, cause if those are the Coming Attractions, I don’t want to see the movie. But we can change those things, but only if we stand together. Everyone agreed and cheered Bella on.

Meanwhile

Alister quickly dodged the bullet Ganner had fired at him. Ganner said, “Pathetic fool, you are just a waste of my time.”

Alister and Jaden quickly ran over to an injured Valon, whose leg had been hit by the bullet. Ganner said, “I think I know exactly what to do with you guys.”
