Episode 51: Message of a Dream





A Sam-Centric episode (No Flashback, but rather, a dream)

Two days passed after Dimitri's death. His body slowly began to decay. Alistair and Sam were given three small meals, which they had to split each day. Alistair tried to think of a way out, but had absolutely no luck. That night Alistair and Sam went to sleep, wondering what the next day would bring. That night Sam had a mysterious dream. In it, he saw Dimitri. He asked Dimitri "What’s happening, am I dead or something?" Dimitri replied, "This is a dream stupid, but they say that dreams sometimes can give you an important message. And that is the purpose of this dream." Sam asked, "Ok, this is a bit weird. What’s the message I am supposed to learn?" Dimitri answered "That will become clear in due time. You are not yet ready to receive this message. Remember, this dream is only a dream. But its message will become quite clear by the time it is over. Remember Sam, if you do not comprehend the message of this dream, than this dream may turn into a reality. It is up to you Sam." Sam replied, "Alright, I understand. Now take me through this thing." Suddenly, Sam was transported to a horrifying site. It was a town in flames. Sam recognized the town as New York City. He asks Dimitri "What happened? Was it hit by another terrorist or something?" Dimitri replied, "Well, not the kind America was expecting." Sam asked, "Wait, you're not saying that Ganner did all of this are you?" Dimitri replied, "That’s exactly what I'm saying." Suddenly, Sam woke up from the dream. Alistair was still asleep next to him. He wondered what this dream meant. Was it truly a dream, or was it a message that Dimitri was trying to give him from the grave. Sam didn’t know what to think. Tyler than came in and slid a small platter through the bars. He said "Alright losers, here’s your morning grub. Enjoy it as you aint getting any more for 7 hours." Tyler then walked away. Sam looked at Dimitri's body and said to himself, "I have to figure out what he was trying to tell me, if it is as important as he claims, than I have to figure it out fast."



Sam spent most of the day keeping to himself, and ignoring Alistair. That night, after Sam had drifted off to sleep, he continued his dream where he had left off. He saw New York City in flames, and people screaming in pain. Sam floated in the air along-side Dimitri. Dimitri said, "I know it’s hard to watch but you must." Sam asked "So, why does this happen, and what does it have to do with me?" Dimitri said "Why, it has everything to do with you. This site is a similar site, which is currently being seen in many cities across the world. This is merely 1 year after the time it is outside of your dream." Sam asked, "So you’re saying that this is a vision of the future, but I can prevent it? How, how am I supposed to prevent this? If this is Ganner's doing, there is nothing that I can do to stop this." Dimitri said, "Well, there may be nothing that you yourself can directly do. But there are others who can." Sam asked, "What do you mean? I don’t understand." Dimitri said, "Every person in life has a mission. Some never get to fulfill theirs, but each person in life has something that they are destined to do, even if it is simply to save another's life. Sam, the purpose of this dream is to tell you what YOU must do." Sam asked, "Well, why can’t you just tell me? Why do I have to play some stupid butt guessing game?" Dimitri responded, "Because you yourself must figure out what you must do. I can say this. You are not destined to directly destroy Ganner. That destiny belongs to 6 people, but one of the six, their lives are currently in grave danger. If even 1 of these six were to die before fulfilling their purpose, than the other 6 will soon follow. Now I must leave you Sam. That is all that I can tell you." Sam asked, "Wait Dimitri, just tell me, who are the six and which one do I have to save? Please, just tell me." Dimitri said, "I’m afraid that I cannot tell you. But if this person were to die before completing their own mission, than every one of the survivors will follow. You alone have the power to save him Sam, you alone." Suddenly Sam woke up. Tyler had already left his morning breakfast. Sam knew that he had to figure out what his dream meant before it was too late.





The hours passed. Tyler delivered lunch like he had the past few days. When he came, Sam asked "So how come we get food every day?" Tyler replied, "Cause Ganner doesn’t want to starve you, he wants to kill you some other way. But if you’re so eager to die, I'm sure Ganner wont mind executing you." Sam replied, "No thanks, I was just curious." Tyler said, "Well, they say curiosity killed the cat, so shut up. I'll be back in a bit. Ganner told me that we have some business to conduct today." After Tyler had walked away, Sam woke Alistair up. Alistair had been sleeping a lot lately. After they had eaten lunch, Tyler returned. He said to Alistair "Alright cowboy, you're next so come out here and I promise to make your death fast. Try to escape and I'll kill your little friend here in a very painful way." Alistair got up and said to Sam "Sorry Sam, I guess you're going to have to sit the rest of this on your own." Suddenly, Sam realized what his dream meant. He thought to himself "If I'm locked up in here, I cant possibly save anyone from back at camp. My dream had to be telling me to save Alistair. I now know what I must do." As Tyler opened the cell door for Alistair to come out, Sam charged it and knocked Tyler down. Than he jumped behind Tyler and held him down. Sam than yelled to Alistair "Go, don’t waste time trying to help me. Go, go now. I can’t hold him down much longer. Tyler had dropped his gun but it rolled back into the cell and Alistair couldn’t risk getting locked in again. He said to Sam "****** Same, I'm not leaving you here." Sam replied, "Alistair, you can’t fight Tyler, and I can only hold him down for so long. If you come closer, he may be able to break free. Listen Alistair, I had a dream last night, and I think it was telling me about today. Each person is life is born with a purpose Alistair; my purpose was to save you. If you don’t go, we're both going to die. But if you run now, you can still save yourself and avenge Dimitri and me. GO ALISTER. GO NOW." Alistair shed some tears and than ran off saying goodbye as he left. After Alistair had left, Tyler broke free. He took Sam into the cell and picked up the gun. He aimed it at Sam and said, "Say your prayers your little fool. Sam closed his eyes. He could sense that he had fulfilled his purpose. He had done all that he could. He took 1 final breath as Tyler shot a bullet into his forehead, killing him instantly. Sam's body fell to the ground as his blood began to spill out of his body. Tyler left the cell and took out a walkie-talkie. He radioed something to someone on the other end. He said, "Listen, Alistair got away, but if we hurry, he isn’t going to get very far." EXTERMINATION TO BE CONTINUED...
